Humanset Launches as Modern Rebrand of ProBoost, Providing Trusted Immune System Modulation Designed to Adapt to Individual Health Needs

MURRIETA, Calif., March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Building on a three-decade reputation for helping consumers with a wide breadth of health conditions, Humanset has officially launched as a transformational product that optimizes the settings of the human immune system. Formerly known as ProBoost, the rebranded supplement is based on a patented active ingredient whose efficacy has been verified by clinical studies and widespread consumer use.

Modulating vs. Boosting

Today there are countless products marketed to energize the immune system. These include essential vitamins and minerals, botanical supplements, probiotics, as well as adaptogens and antioxidants. These focus on “boosting” the immune system, which can be beneficial, yet can lead to imbalances and overreactions.

Multidirectional immune support is another, more effective and personalized approach that allows for increasing or decreasing the immune response depending on each body’s needs. Immune modulation is about achieving balance and harmony in the immune system, ensuring the body can effectively respond to threats without overreacting or causing harm.

TPA Helps Manage T-Cells

Humanset products are uniquely based on the patented active ingredient Thymic Protein A (TPA), a bioactive protein naturally produced by the thymus gland. TPA plays a critical role in activating and “programming” T-cells, the key players in immune response.

TPA was discovered by immunologist Dr. Terry Beardsley, the first to clone thymic epithelial cells, whose groundbreaking research culminated in a landmark publication in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Science and led to the development of a TPA-based consumer product in 1994, which became ProBoost in 2000.

Designing a New Humanset Era

Humanset CEO Steve Paterson was drawn to the company through two people. The first was TPA pioneer Dr. Beardsley, his father-in-law, whose work he had known for two decades. As a professional graphic designer and creative agency leader, he had helped Dr. Beardsley with ProBoost’s website design and marketing materials. Paterson then became personally vested in the company and its immune-regulating products, in 2014, when his five-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare, incurable autoimmune disorder, juvenile dermatomyositis.

With his daughter’s symptoms in remission for several years, Paterson’s belief in the company led to his becoming CEO in 2017, working alongside Dr. Beardsley in his role as chief medical advisor. Paterson sought to increase the audience for its TPA products but ran into a dilemma. Some people found the name misleading, assuming a brand called ProBoost would be ineffective, even detrimental, especially for individuals with an overactive immune system. As a seasoned brand marketer and entrepreneur, Paterson recognized that a more accurate name was needed to convey its true benefits.

A Trusted Suite of Products

With a squiggle in its logo symbolizing both up and down modulation, Humanset is now available exclusively through the company’s new website, with potential expansion to other online marketplaces.

“I consider it a miracle that my father-in-law discovered and created a product that, 20 years later, became so instrumental in my daughter’s life,” said Steve Paterson. “As CEO I’m privileged to carry that torch and to shine the brightest possible light on the transformative impact of TPA for those in need of better immune health.”
